US GDP Growth

In today’s chart (view here), we show the US Real GDP growth rate over the past 10 years. The economy expanded at a slower pace in the fourth quarter of 2015 as households tempered spending and businesses cut back on capital investment – growing at a final print of 1.0% quarter-on-quarter (q/q) after expanding at 2.0% q/q in the third quarter and higher than consensus estimate of 0.4%. In spite of the global slowdown the US economy remains resilient with personal consumption expenditures remaining a key area of strength.
